Library Services

Audio/Visual Equipment

The library maintains a wide variety of equipment that may be used within the library.

A/V equipment is available for classroom use only at the request of an instructor. Students who need equipment for presentations should verify that the instructor has requested it.

DSS/Distance Ed Room

The library contains a small room for those who would like to use Dragon Naturally Speaking or other accessibility software in a less noisy environment than is available in the computer lab. The room is also available to students taking University of Alaska courses via distance delivery. Reservations are encouraged, especially if you need it for a recurring class.

Group instruction

Information literacy sessions tailored to the specific needs of individual courses are available on request. Instructors who would like to schedule a session are encouraged to contact the Library Director as early in the semester as possible, but sessions can be done with as little as 24 hours' notice if scheduling permits.

Group study rooms

The library maintains two group study rooms that can be reserved. Each room can seat at least 8 people and has a computer with internet access.

Holds and requests

The Joint Library Catalog allows its member libraries to share material with ease. You do not need to be a student to use this feature.

Help - Placing Holds

Interlibrary loan

If you need an item that is not available locally or through the Joint Library Catalog, we will attempt to get it from another library. We subsidize the cost of borrowing up to $10/request, which is enough for most items. You will be asked to pay any amount above that if. We will notify you before completing any request that requires additional funds.

This service is reserved for currently registered Mat-Su College students.

Photocopiers

There are two self-service photocopiers in the library. The cost is $0.10/page.
