Quick Facts
- UAA's subscription databases provide electronic versions of print journal, magazine, and newspaper articles
- They are accessed through the Internet, but they are not "Internet sources"
UAA subscribes to a large number of databases that contain electronic versions of articles from magazines and journals. The full list of those databases can be viewed by clicking on the full database list link.
In general, clicking on a category under "Find articles by subject" provides a list of the subscription databases that are best suited for research on that topic followed by additional databases that may be helpful, a list of recommended web sites, and other sources. For the purposes of the "print vs. Internet source" debate, the databases are print sources, while the web sites are not.
The reason is that the articles that can be printed from the subscription databases have been published in a print source. Using the citation of the article from the database, you could request a copy of the print article through interlibrary loan. If you did that, however, we would ask you to print the article from the database because it would save both of us a lot of time.
