Painting Floral Workshop In conjunction with the Fred Machetanz
Foundation Grant we offered a representative oil painting workshop
this summer. Slide presentation, lecture and demonstration the first
night were followed by four days of hands on floral painting and
demonstrations. 17 students from Anchorage to Nancy Lake attended. Jeanne
Mackenzie is a Colorado resident living in the Fort Collins
area. She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Teaching
Credential from San Diego State University. ‘I am continually
learning new ways to make my paintings more expressive
and spontaneous. The art of learning to ‘see’ is the foundation for
a good painting and my constant lesson. Nature keeps me honest’. Her artwork
has earned Merit Awards and shown at Juried shows throughout the
United States including the Oil Painters of America Show and the
prestigious Arts for the Parks Top 100. She was a finalist for
The Artist's Magazine Art Competition and has been featured
both Southwest Art Magazine’s Best of the West and International
Artist Magazine- Master Artists. Jeanne shares her love of art
teaching painting workshops throughout the country and is on staff
at the Denver Art Museum teaching painting and color theory.. |
