Stop!
If you found the item you would like to borrow on the Joint Library Catalog, please check to see if it is available through the Place Hold system first.
If the item is not available through the Joint Library Catalog, we can try to obtain a copy from a library outside of our system through an interlibrary loan.
Who may make interlibrary loan requests?
You must be a student at Mat-Su College with a valid library card. The barcode on the back of your student ID card needs to be activated before you can use it. If you have not used the library before, your card is not active.
How can interlibrary loan requests be submitted?
There are three recommended methods available to you for placing an interlibrary loan request:
- Use the form on this web site
- E-mail the request to Gini Geary (ggeary@matsu.alaska.edu)
- Give the information necessary to make the request to a library staff member
 |
Please do not make interlibrary loan requests directly from WorldCat or any other OCLC database. |
Doing so will send your request to the Anchorage campus. We will be unable to track your request if you choose to do this. When your request arrives, it may be held in Anchorage for you to pick up.
What information do we need from you?
Please include your name and phone number (or e-mail address) and as much of the following information as possible:
For a book:
- The book's title
- The book's author
- The book's publication date or edition number
- The book's publisher
- The book's Worldcat accession number
For a journal article:
- The title of the article
- The author of the article
- The name of the magazine or journal in which the article appeared
- The date the article was published
- The page numbers on which the article appeared
- Where you found the reference to the article
- The article's accession number if you found it in a database
Tip:
A great way to provide complete information is to print the record from a database, write your name and phone number on it, and give it to the person behind the Circulation Desk.
When will it arrive?
In general, interlibrary loans take 7-10 days to arrive, but they can be delayed for various reasons. It is a good idea to check on the status of your requests from time to time.
How will you know?
When your request arrives, you will receive a phone call and your name will be placed on the white board behind the circulation desk.
