Spring 2002 Semester:

1138 registered for credit classes
    64 registered for non-credit classes
1202 total  (FTE = 565)

Our enrollment numbers are higher than last spring semester on this same date.  We are still expecting new registrations for late starting classes and MSBSD concurrent enrollment classes.  MSC is looking forward to a successful spring semester!

Sandy Gravley, A&R Coordinator, reports that late registration for regular semester length classes continues through Friday, January 18.

Instructor Charles Hamby has a new temporary assignment to develop a new degree for MSC – an AAS in Network Administration.

Scott Klein who works in our Physical Plant Department was married over the Christmas/NewYear break.

Remember!  No classes/campus closed on Monday, January 21 for Alaska Civil Rights Day.

Chancellor Gorsuch will be on campus Wednesday, January 30 to visit with faculty and staff.  3:00 p.m. in FSM 103.

Director Search Update
Rebecca Evans reports that 35 applications have been received and the committee has begun the Stage I & II screening.  The
Provost has also requested that our ad be run in the “Community College Times” and is scheduled to run on January 22.

Also from Rebecca Evans…on January 18 a Blackboard Workshop will take place in room JKB 125 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.  Rebecca will be leading the Mat-Su College CAFÉ sponsored workshop.

Summer semester dates have tentatively been set…
Session I: May 13-June 24
Session II: July 1-August 9
10-week Session: May 13-July 22
