Search Update (from Rebecca Evans)
Hi Everyone! And the drum roll please !! We will be putting their schedules online for these campus visits within the next few days. If you have any questions please feel free to call or email me at pfrme@matsu.alaska.edu. Rebecca E. Monday Meetings - On Monday, April 1st , there will be a staff meeting (APT and classified) at 1:30 p.m. in FSM 103 followed by a faculty meeting (both full time and adjuncts) at 3:30 p.m. in the same room. Please try to attend if you can. Al Okeson Connie Cannon was able to attend the ALASFAA Spring Conference in Anchorage on March 12th & 13th . Some of the topics covered were diversity, default aversion, time management and E-signature. This was a good opportunity to re-establish relationships with Financial Aid Administrators from all over the State. The conference was even better than last fall's. Also, Connie received a scholarship to the attend the WASFAA (Western Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators Summer Institute) from our local ALASFAA organization. This is a week long training in June located in Reno, NV. Photography student, Jerry Pattison, received a blue ribbon for his entry in the Alaska Vets Creative Arts Festival. His black & white photo can be viewed in the display case on the second floor of FSM near the elevator. Congratulations Jerry! |
Roses for
Rotary - The Wasilla Sunrise Rotary Club is having their annual
fund-raising event and Carol Kane is taking orders now. The cost is $25
per dozen. Contact Carol by email at aassp@alaska.net , call 746-9300,
or just stop by her office to place your order. Proceeds will go towards
scholarships and youth programs in our community. Flowers will be
available April 22nd or 23rd.
The Fall Course Schedule we have been anxiously awaiting is running a little behind schedule due to problems with the printer. They should be here next week and so should the summer schedules. Of course you can always go to our web page to see the complete schedule(s) on-line at www.matsu.alaska.edu. Earlier this month Walt Disney World recruiters visited our campus to host a presentation and conduct interviews for the WDW College Internship Program. A total of seven MSC students were offered internships for the coming summer and fall seasons. Congratulations, and say hi to Mickey for us! Nominees for the Chancellor's Awards are now on UAA's Website, if you wish to take a look. MSC nominees for outstanding service include the MSC Math Club, Associate Professor Viola Harrison, and classified staff, Gretchen Germer and Korry Dunham. Congratulations on being nominated– you all deserve to win! Several of our employees will be receiving longevity awards for 5, 10, and 15 years. http://www.finsys.uaa.alaska.edu/uaahrs/
