Each year some students suffer major illnesses and accidents that require extensive medical attention or hospitalization. These misfortunes are distressing from a financial as well as a health point of view, and indicate a need for a health insurance program.

A health insurance policy is available for students enrolled in six (6) or more credits at MSC/UAA. The annual estimated premium is $668. A major medical option is available for an estimated $240. Spouse and children may be enrolled in the program for an additional cost. Please be advised that this is a limited policy. You are encouraged to compare this policy and the premium cost with other private insurance policies available in the community before you make your decision as individual circumstances may allow some students to obtain health insurance at lower rates with other companies in your area.
